Każde dziecko powinno bawić się plasteliną. Przede wszystkim rozwija ona sprawność manualną dziecka. Dziecko trzymając i ugniatając plastelinę, zazwyczaj robi to obiema rękami, a to powoduje współpracę obu półkul mózgowych. Lewa jest odpowiedzialna za logiczne myślenie i zdolności językowe, a prawa za wyobraźnię i emocje. Co więcej plastelina pozwala ćwiczyć koncentrację i rozwija kreatywność.
